Multiple-award-winning Chartered media practitioner, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, also known as Abeiku Santana, has urged Ghanaian youth to distinguish themselves with their attitude, skills, and knowledge.
Abeiku Santana made these remarks at the launch of the He Empowering Lot More Shes (HELMS) Initiative in Accra on Friday 6th August 2021.
Abeiku Santana, one of the distinguished mentors on the project, advised the youth to take advantage of the HELMS initiative and navigate their challenges in healthy ways.
The He Empowering Lot More Shes (HELMS) project is an initiative of RoyalAid Foundation, a Socio-Health-based NGO with a focus on health, Education, Entrepreneurial Skills Development, Boychild Empowerment, and Poverty Eradication.
The HELMS Initiative is a synergy effort to engage men and boys in removing the social and cultural barriers that prevent women and girls from achieving their potential and thus, together, positively reshaping society.
The project seeks to empower the men and guide them to stand in solidarity with women to create a bold, visible, and united force for gender equality.
According to Dr. S. K Frimpong, the founder of RoyalAid Foundation, to successfully empower women and girls in the country, there is the need to empower the boy-child and groom them to understand the needs of women and girls.
For him, when the boy child is trained with a proper understanding of the needs of the girl-child, he will grow up to support the course of women empowerment.
Shehu Dalhu Abdul-Mumin Salifu (The Spiritual Leader of Ahlulbayt Mission in Northern Ghana and Zongo Chief of Tamale) encouraged the youth to uphold their integrity and appealed to NGOs in Ghana to promote He for She empowerment just as RoyalAid foundation is spearheading.
